Broadalbin-Perth sweeps indoor meet

SCHENECTADY – The Broadalbin-Perth indoor track teams swept the team titles at Saturday’s meet at Union College.

The Patrots won the boys meet with a score of 119.33, while the Lady Patriots scored 96 points to win the girls portion.

Greg Bogdan was a double winner for B-P, hitting the line first in the 3,200-meter run in 10:39.0 and the 1,600-meters in 4:58.5.

Jake Coveney won the 50-meter hurdles with his time of 7.4 and Darius Reyes won the 300 meters in 39.6. Mike Visco won the triple jump title with his leap of 39-11.5.

Anna Smith established a new girl’s indoor shot put school record with her winning toss of 34-03. Coreena Monroe won the 300 meters in 47.3 and Celina Onzo won the triple jump with her leap of 28-11.5.

Monroe, Victoria Opalka, Mackenzie DeZolt and Jordyn Deneuville teamed up to win the 3,200-meter relay with their time of 11:02.1.

Monroe also placed second in the 600-meter run with her time of 1:54.1.

Pierre LaPort placed second in the shot put with his toss of 43-0, while Damian Jabot was runner-up in the 300-meter run in 40.6 and Reyes was second in the long jump with his jump of 19-03.
