Area skiers compete at Canajoharie Invitational

BENSON – Mayfield’s Emily Cromie finished seventh in the 5k classic race at the Canajoharie Invitational on Friday at Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center.

Cromie finished the 5k classic race in a time of 23:13.

Shenendehowa’s Sarah Duclos won the girls race with a time of 19:39, while Queensbury’s Tyra Wynn was second with a time of 20:01.

Queensbury won the team title with 11 points, while Shenendehowa (19 points) and Glens Falls (33) were second and third, respectively.

Canajoharie was ninth with 97 points, while Mayfield fielded an incomplete team.

Mayfield’s Alyssa Davis was 16th with a time of 27:06.

Paige Shovelton led Canajoharie, placing 29th with a time of 29:36. Carolyn Adams (31:58) was 33rd for the Lady Cougars, Grace Corrigan (34:53) was 35th and Ashley Darling (39:14) was 39th.

In the boys race, Mayfield’s Mitch Akowicz was 11th with a time of 31:42.

Scotia-Glenville’s Matt Forshey won the 8k classic race with a time of 27:00, while Queensbury’s Liam Mulshine (28:10) was second.

Scotia-Glenville won the team title with 13 points, while Shenendehowa was second with 16 points. Queensbury (22 points) was third. Mayfield was seventh with 61 points, while Canajoharie was ninth with 114.

Devante Marshall (35:44) was 23rd for Mayfield, while Austin Davis (36:39) was 27th. Brent Gray (37:20) was 31st for the Panthers and Sam Kilpatrick (40:23) was 35th.

Tyler Bell led Canajoharie, placing 36th with a time of 44:57. Alex Vromann (47:35) was 38th for the Cougars, while Zach Young (50:30) was 40th. Ben Mason (53:20) was 41st for Canajoharie.
