Richard H. Cowsert
In loving memory of Richard H. Cowsert, born September 11, 1943, currently residing in Deland Fl. and formerly of Amsterdam NY. He suddenly passed away on January 1, 2014. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Christine Aulisi Cowsert and her son, Tyler; children, Rick and wife Beth, Garrett, Lisa and their mother Carol; also survived by grandchildren, Shawnee, Tyler, Elia, Crais; and his brother, Garrett (Theresa).
Rick was a retired NY State trooper, a member of the Masons, OTHG NY and American Legion Riders Post 6 of Deland, Fla. Besides his family, he always enjoyed spending time with his beloved pets. He was a rescue advocate for animals and is survived by rescue dog, Victor. He most recently was predeceased by his faithful companions, Titan, Zeus and Snowball.
He loved to ride and repair motorcycles, build and restore his Model A, and go for his daily morning coffee at Pat’s Place with his friends.
If you were lucky enough to have met Rick, you knew the meaning of a true friend. He was a loving, caring, dependable and generous man who was always there to help anyone in need. Rick was the “Go to Guy” for his family, friends and even people he had just met.
In lieu of a service, a Celebration of Life will be taking place on January 11th, with a ceremony to be held at the American Legion followed by a motorcycle ride to his favorite places.
A memorial contribution may be made in his honor to American Legion (Post 6 Deland, Fl.), Orange County Hospice Care Center, SPCA or the charity of your choice.
