H.S. Bowling Roundup: Johnstown sweeps Gloversville
JOHNSTOWN – Morgan Ruggeri rolled a high game of 237 on her way to a 652 series, leading Johnstown to a 4-0 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council bowling match at Perry Lanes on Wednesday.
Jimmy Marshall posted a 257-651 for the Sir Bills, while Jay Hadcock finished with a 237-630. Ben Empie added a 227-603 for Johnstown, which finished with a 3,651-3,278 advantage in total pins.
Johnstown won the first game 1,251-1,121 and the second game 1,103-1,073. The Sir Bills closed out the sweep by taking the third game, 1,297-1,085.
Richard Taylor led Gloversville with a 238-667, while Tim Hoose posted a 203-585. Tyler Quinones added a 193-552 for the Huskies.
Queensbury 2, Broadalbin-Perth 2
AMSTERDAM – Matt Frisch rolled games of 241, 212 and 195 on his way to a 648 series, helping Broadalbin-Perth earn a split with Queensbury in a Foothills Council match at Kelly’s Imperial Bowling Center.
Nick Scavia posted a 227-616 for the Patriots, while Chris Smith added a 193-572.
Marc Lambert rolled 239-639 to lead Queensbury, while Matt Schweigardt had a 236-570.
Queensbury finished with a 3,268-3,216 advantage in total pins.
Mechanicville 24, Fonda-Fultonville 8
JOHNSTOWN – Kyle Pratt rolled a 191-511, leading Mechanicville to a win over Fonda-Fultonville at Perry Lanes.
Kevin Cunningham posted a 181-505 for the Red Raiders, who finished with a 2,919-1,857 advantage in total pins.
Brandon Koons led FFCS with a 196-561, while Lucas Squadrito posted a 189-502.
Amsterdam 7, Bishop Gibbons 0
AMSTERDAM – Billy McGaffin rolled games of 261 and 212 on his way to a 645 series, leading Amsterdam to a sweep of Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons at Kelly’s Imperial Bowling Center.
Joe Spagnola rolled a 220-636 for the Rams, Jon LaBahn had a 241-620 and Marc LaBahn posted a 231-618. Brendan McGillin added a 257-600 for Amsterdam.
Janelle Irwin led Bishop Gibbons with a 247-603, while Jason Kaufman had a 222-560. Jason Friedon added a 222-527 for Bishop Gibbons.

JOHNSTOWN – Kiara LaFountain rolled 200-551, leading Mechanicville to a win over Fonda-Fultonville at Perry Lanes.
Lindsey Rosen posted a 191-542 for the Red Raiders, while Haley Groat had a 186-510.
Cheyanne Harding rolled a 134-348 to lead Fonda-Fultonville. Mechanicville finished with a 2,978-944 advantage in total pins.
