Frozen pipe leads to canceled surgeries

GLOVERSVILLE – Nathan Littauer Hospital canceled 25 surgeries today upon discovery at 5:55 a.m. this morning of a frozen pipe, according to a news release from the hospital.

The frozen pipe was found in time to notify all incoming patients, the release said. No patients were in the surgery unit when the frozen pipe was found.

The hospital has an operating room in another part of the hospital that is fully operational and will be used today in case of an emergency, the release said.

The surgical unit expects to be fully operational by Thursday, the release said.
