Johnstown should consider transit deal

The previous mayoral administration in Johnstown was in charge when Gloversville Transit System’s Johnstown route ended. I suggest new Mayor Michael Julius and Johnstown’s Common Council try to reinstate such service for Johnstown residents. And to lessen the city’s cost, perhaps they could pass the hat to those merchants who benefit from such shoppers.

To dramatize what the poor endure walking out to the malls just for food, perhaps the council should try it themselves: dodging dangerous traffic on Route 30A, then lugging back sacks of purchases. Afterward, they might appreciate what some people face just to survive. For instance, I recently saw a man pushing a walker in the rain on the shoulder of the highway in front of Applebee’s.
