Johnstown man dies in accident

CAROGA – A Johnstown motorist was killed when his vehicle struck a tree on Route 10 early Wednesday morning, Fulton County sheriff’s deputies reported.

Sheriff Thomas Lorey indicated in a new release his department continues to investigate the fatal crash, which claimed the life of 42-year-old Brian Passero.

Deputies said the accident occurred at 2:46 a.m. Wednesday on Route 10, near Glassgow Road in the town.

Lorey said Passero’s vehicle left the road before striking a tree. The sheriff said Passero was the only occupant of the vehicle.

More information is expected to be released after the investigation.

According to the release, responding to the scene were deputies, state police, the Ambulance Service of Fulton County, the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Department, the Fulton County Coroner’s Office and Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home.
