Dolgeville boys lose to Adirondack, 78-52

BOONVILLE – Josh Nessel finished with 20 points, leading Adirondack to a 78-52 win over the Dolgeville boys basketball team in the opening round of the Adirondack Holiday Hoop Tournament on Thursday.

Elliot Hernandez scored 17 points for the Wildcats (4-3 overall), while Ethan Wiedmer finished with 11 points. Ryan Dellerba added 10 points for Adirondack, which connected on 12 3-pointers in the game.

Alex Johnson scored 17 points to lead Dolgeville (0-8 overall).

In the other first-round contest, Poland rolled to a 76-37 win over Sauquoit Valley.

Mark Hennings scored 33 points to lead the Tornadoes, who won their sixth straight game.

Ross Agen added 17 points for Poland (6-1 overall).

Ryan Griffith scored nine points to lead Sauquoit Valley (1-5 overall).

Adirondack will face Poland in today’s title game at 6 p.m., while Dolgeville will face Sauquoit Valley in the consolation game at 2 p.m.
