Pair charged with burglary

PROVIDENCE – State police said a pair of men, one of whom is a Galway resident, were arrested Thursday in connection with a burglary in town.

Cameron VanDusen, 20, of Southline Road in Galway, and Justin Miner, 21, of Maple Ave. in Ballston Spa, were charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Authorities said the pair were charged after they broke into a residence on Wileytown Road in the town.

Police said neighbors in the area called 911 after seeing a suspicious vehicle in the area several times, and observing two people stop and go up to the residence. Troopers responded to the residence and learned people had broken into the home, but they left the area.

Police said the description of the suspicious vehicle was given to all patrols, and they were advised of the possible involvement in the burglary.

Police said VanDusen and Miner left the residence and traveled to the Amsterdam area, where they cashed in some of the coins and attempted to pawn the property they had stolen.

The two returned to Saratoga County and the vehicle was spotted by an investigator from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants were found in possession of several items stolen from the residence, police said.

Both men were arraigned in Ballston Spa Village Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail.
