Baseball bat used to kill dog: deputies
FLORIDA-A Pattersonville woman was arrested for beating a dog to death with a baseball bat, Montgomery?County sheriff’s deputies said.
Debralee D. Knight, 33, of 225 Route 5S, Lot 10, Pattersonville, is charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide proper sustenance, and making a false punishable written statement. Both charges are misdemeanors.
Deputies said they received a report Oct. 25 that Knight allegedly killed a dog and buried it in the backyard of the residence.
According to deputies, Knight intentionally hit her pitbull dog with an aluminum baseball bat, which killed it. Knight is also accused of lying to deputies during an interview where she gave a sworn written statement.
Knight was arraigned in the Town Court and released.
She also was issued an appearance ticket for making a false statement and is scheduled to appear in Glen Town Court on Dec. 11 to answer the charge.
