Elizabeth Greenman, age 86, of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
Born on July 6, 1927, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the Henry Skadra and Elizabeth Skoda Skadra.
Mrs. Greenman was a Class of 1945 graduate of Johnstown High School and worked for many years in the glove industry until retiring at Grandoe Gloves. She was a member and Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Johnstown and was a former member and former past president of the Catholic Sokol. Elizabeth was also a board member of the Willing Helpers Home in Johnstown, member of the United Glove Workers Union, and a representative for the Council of Women, Council of Churches and New Century Women.
Survivors include one daughter, Jamye Becker and her husband Stephen of Oswego; one sister, Mildred Caldera of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Erich (Kellie) Becker and Alyson (Jacek) Lupa; four great-grandchildren, Danielle and Kaitlynn Becker and Lech and Petra Lupa; nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, James Greenman, whom she married on November 18, 1950, and he passed away on August 31, 1992.
In keeping with Elizabeth’s wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
