Wendolyn M. ‘Wendy’ Blowers

FONDA – Wendolyn M. “Wendy” Blowers, 44, passed away peacefully in the loving company of her family and friends Friday evening at her home.

She was born while her parents were stationed at the Eglin Service Base in Valparaiso, Florida, on Dec. 17, 1968, to Martin A. and Margaret J. Hanson Simonds, who survive. Raised in Fonda, she was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Central School Class of 1987 and later received her associate degree in business in Syracuse.

Wendy worked for the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General for the past twenty-one years. She and her husband shared a passion for motocross racing and Wendy served as secretary for the CNY MRA for district 3. She also managed the Royal Mountain Motocross and Supercross racing for many years. She was a dedicated mom who took an active part in her son Tyler’s sporting events and was secretary of the Little League at FFCS. She also served as treasurer for the Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department, an organization dear to her family. Throughout her battle, Wendy was blessed to have a loving and supporting network of family, friends and co-workers.

On August 26, 1995, she was united in marriage to Clayton L. Blowers. In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her dear son Tyler at home; her parents, Martin and Margaret Simonds of Fonda; brother Thadd Simonds, Fonda; grandmothers Marion Simonds of Fonda and Barbara Horton of Perth; goddaughters (niece) Rhyana Simonds and Sarah Fryc; aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Her grandparents, Richard and Marion Hanson and Ambrose Simonds, predeceased her.

A service to celebrate her life will take place Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. The Rev. Bonnie Orth is officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
