H.S. Bowling Roundup: Gloversville wins opener over Broadalbin-Perth

GLOVERSVILLE -Mason Hoye rolled a high game of 257 on his way to a 639 series, leading Gloversville to a 3-1 win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council bowling match Monday at Arterial Lanes.

Tim Hoose posted a 253-632 for the Huskies, while Nick Ferrara added a 226-554.

Austin Corcuera rolled a 259-650 to lead Broadalbin-Perth, while Chris Smith finished with a 184-525.

Matt Frisch added a 213-516 for the Patriots.

Gloversville finished with a 3,342-3,159 advantage in total pins.

Johnstown 3, Hudson Falls 1

JOHNSTOWN – Jimmy Marshall rolled games of 203, 193 and 213 on his way to a 609 series to lead Johnstown to a Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls at Perry Lanes.

Jay Hadcock posted a 232-606 for the Sir Bills, while Ben Empie had a 254-595. Morgan Ruggeri added a 217-572 for Johnstown.

The Sir Bills lost the first game 1,176-1,131, before rallying to win the final two games 1,143-1,076 and 1,175-1,047.

“We didn’t have our A game, but the kids stayed together as a team and we made less mistakes in the last two games,” Johnstown coach David Hayward said. “It was a good win for the team.”

Johnstown finished with a 3,449-3,299 advantage in total pins.

Collin Kelsey posted a 208-592 to lead Hudson Falls, while Brian Barrett had a 218-590. Zack Weller recorded a 238-555 for the Tigers, and Matt Gardner added a 192-552.


Canajoharie 4, Fort Plain 0

CANAJOHARIE – Travis Colegrove had a high game of 238 on his way to a 623 series, leading Canajoharie to a sweep of Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference contest at Iroquois Lanes.

Dakota Montayne posted a 233-563 for the Cougars, while Jimmy Fiaschetti added a 188-528.

David Wilday posted a 202-513 to lead Fort Plain.

Canajoharie finished with a 2,683-2,425 advantage in total pins.

Amsterdam matches postponed

AMSTERDAM?-?The Amsterdam bowling tram had its mach at Notre?Dame-Bishop?Gibbons postponed Monday.

The match was rescheduled for Dec. 5.

Amsterdam also postponed today’s home match with LaSalle until Jan. 22.
