Police: Woman stole library laptop
GLOVERSVILLE – A city woman was arrested Sunday after police said she stole keys to the Gloversville Public Library, then stole a laptop after library hours.
Amy P. Simonds, 34, of 28 Spring Avenue, was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Police said library staff said they observed Simonds inside the library after closing hours. They determined she had stolen the library keys of an employee and used them to gain access, police said.
Once inside the library, police said, Simonds stole a laptop computer and fled the scene. She was arrested by police at her home where the laptop was recovered hidden in her bedroom, police said.
She was arraigned in City Court by Judge Traci DiMezza, where she was remanded to the custody of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
