Police say man choked girlfriend
GLOVERSVILLE – A Johnstown man was arrested Wednesday after being accused of holding a knife to his girlfriend’s throat, city police said.
John D. Johnson, 45, of 21 Walnut St., Johnstown, was arrested on a warrant and charged with third-degree attempted assault, second-degree menacing and criminal obstruction of blood circulation.
Police said the warrant was based on a family dispute complaint. Johnson is accused of striking his girlfriend, holding a knife to her throat and choking her during a domestic dispute, police said.
He was processed and held for arraignment.
