Fulmont Force to host meeting Thursday
BROADALBIN – The newly-formed Fulmont Force baseball club will host a meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Broadalbin-Perth High School cafeteria.
The meeting is open to the public, including parents, players, and those interested in managing or coaching a team.
The Fulmont Force group began providing travel baseball opportunities to youth players in 2009, and participated in the Eastern New York Travel Baseball League under the name “Sacandaga Patriots.” The club has been re-named the Fulmont Force Baseball Club, and is a not-for-profit corporate entity participating in the Empire State Baseball League.
The mission of the Fulmont Force is to foster both the love for baseball, and the players’ abilities in baseball in a safe, exciting, and competitive environment, according to a news release. In order to do this, a Board of Directors has been formally elected, a Constitution and By-Laws have been approved, and we have now arrived at the time to start assembling teams to compete in the ESBL. The groups’ goal is to offer as many competitive baseball players from ages 8-22, an opportunity to play competitive travel baseball at a skill level that will foster their growth as players and young people, the release said. The club is open to any players in Fulton and Montgomery counties as well as the surrounding region. In order to qualify to play on a Fulmont Force travel team, the player must participate in either a school level (modified, junior varsity, varsity) or community level (Little League, Babe Ruth, etc.) baseball program.
The Fulmont Force also will host a player evaluation day at either the Broadalbin-Perth High School gym, or the newly-opened Sacandaga Sports Center, at 1024 Midline Road in Amsterdam on Nov. 16.
