Huskies edged by Ballston Spa

GLOVERSVILLE – Ballston Spa stuffed a two-point conversion run with 1:25 remaining in the fourth quarter to hold on for a 24-23 win over Gloversville in a Class A-AA crossover football game Wednesday at Husky Field.

Asa Barnhill scored on a 1-yard run to pull the Huskies within a point, but the Scotties stopped the conversion run.

Barnhill finished with 163 yards and two touchdowns rushing for Gloversville. He also threw for 165 yards and another touchdown.

Barnhill scored on runs of 1 and 42 yards for the Huskies, and threw an 82-yard touchdown pass to Quantel McGee.

David VanDenabeele added a 26-yard field goal for Gloversville, which finished its season with a 4-5 overall record.

Sam Groves scored on a 93-yard kick return for Ballston Spa (4-5 overall, while Kiernan Mack scored on runs of 45 and 20 yards. Andrew VanAvery added a 23-yard field goal for the Scotties.
