Vote and support sought

I am running as the Republican candidate for Ward 6 county supervisor in Gloversville. Although I am running unopposed, I feel the need to reach out to the residents of Ward 6 to ask not only for your moral support, but also for your vote. This is the seat currently held by Richard Ottalagano, who is not seeking re-election. Ottalagano has served his constituents diligently throughout his years of service, and it is an honor to have the opportunity to serve the people he so ably represented.

I am a 1970 graduate of Gloversville High School, have an associate’s degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College, a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego, and subsequently received a two-year certificate degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University. I have been married to Jeanne (Franco) Greene since 1982. We are the proud parents of two adult sons, Stephen and Jacob. We have resided on Northern Terrace for the past 23 years.

I was previously employed by the Fulton County Probation Department from 1976-2009. From 1988 through 2009, I served as director of the department. Currently, I am employed part time with the Family Counseling Center as a family support worker and on the Mobile Crises Team.

During my tenure in probation, I served on numerous boards and committees. Among them were the Fulton County Traffic Safety Board for 25 years, 20 of which as chairman; the Council of Probation Administrators, where I was chairman for several years of the 18 counties comprising Area II; the Fulton County Community Services Board for the maximum allowed of eight years, the last two as chairman; and the Family Counseling Center Board of Directors. Currently, I serve on the Fulton County and Gloversville Republican Committees.

If elected to the Board of Supervisors, I pledge to do my best to consider all information provided to me in order to vote in the best interests of Fulton County, the city of Gloversville and the residents of Ward 6.

I specifically want the residents of Ward 6 to know that I will be accessible to you. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email (725-1582, to voice your concerns and/or suggestions.

As a native of Gloversville, I know we as a community have the opportunity to move forward and once again make Gloversville a special place to live and raise our families.
