Girls Soccer Roundup: Scotia-Glenville tops Amsterdam

SCOTIA – Kelsey Martin, Abby O’Connor and Dominique Puglisi scored to lead fourth-seeded Scotia-Glenville to a 3-1 Class A quarterfinal win over fifth-seeded Amsterdam on Friday.

Maddy Carroll had two assists for the Lady Tartans, while O’Connor added one assist.

Monica Rouse scored the lone goal for the Lady Rams.

Carina Moran made four saves to post the win in goal for Scotia-Glenville, while Cassandra Robataille made seven stops for Amsterdam.

Scotia-Glenville (13-4 overall) will face top-seeded Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in the Class A semifinals Tuesday at Stillwater High School.

Burnt Hills posted a 2-1 win over No. 8 seed Mohonasen on Friday.

Amsterdam ended its season with an 11-5 overall record.

Section III Class C-2 Quarterfinals

Morrisville-Eaton 7, Dolgeville 2

MORRISVILLE – Emily Widger scored three goals and had an assist, leading third-seeded Morrisville-Eaton to a quarterfinal win over sixth-seeded Dolgeville on Thursday.

Makenzie Hirsch and Brook Brown each scored twice for Morrisville-Eaton, while Emily LaBlanc added three assists.

Shelby Brown made eight saves for Morrisville-Eaton.

Morrisville-Eaton will face second-seeded Fabius-Pompey today at 4:30 p.m. at Chittenango High School. Fabius-Pompey posted a 1-0 win over seventh-seeded Manlius-Pebble Hill.

Dolgeville ended its season with a 7-9-1 overall record.
