Troopers find stash of bogus credit cards

GLEN -?Three people were arrested Wednesday after police found they had hidden fraudulent credit cards in two false-bottom drink-mix containers, state police said.

Just before 11 a.m., state police from Fultonville were patrolling the Thruway in town when they pulled over a black Chrysler 300 for speeding, a police report said.

When the trooper approached the Chrysler, he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, police said.

The three occupants were interviewed and gave conflicting stories about who they were and where they were going, police said.

When backup arrived, the three New York City residents, Kirschel K. Butler, 26, Christopher Grey, 23, and Keliesha C. McCoy, 23, were arrested after police found the fraudulent credit cards, police said.

No marijuana was found, police said.

The three were charged with 115 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

They were arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Montgomery County Jail, state police said.
