Three facing drug charges

AMSTERDAM – Authorities arrested three people Wednesday on drug-related charges.

A search warrant for the sale of marijuana and cocaine was executed on 6 Perkins St., second floor, after a two-month investigation, police said.

A resident of that address, Thomas Aldi Jr., 21, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, police said.

Police said local residents had complained about the amount of traffic at the residence.

While police were searching the home, two men approached the scene. After police interviewed the men, police charged Tyler Agosta, 21, of 222 Route 67, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having heroin in his possession, police said.

A third man was charged after a traffic stop on Forbes Street around 9:45 p.m., police said.

The driver, Moses Hopkins III, 39, of 243 Vrooman Ave., was in possession of several baggies of cocaine, police said. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third- degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Aldi and Hopkins were held for arraignment. Agosta was released on an appearance ticket, police said.
