Police: Investigation leads to arrests
AMSTERDAM – City police said three men were arrested Thursday in connection with drug sales.
Roberto Toledo, aka “Peno,” 35, of 13 DeGraff St., first floor, Giovanni Fuentes-Diaz, aka “Gordo,” 33, of 187 Division St., apartment 2 and Melvin Gonzalez, 26, of 11 Lefferts St., were all charged with third-degree sale of a controlled substance.
Police said the trio were charged after a search of 13 DeGraff St., first floor, and a vehicle of one of the residents.
Police said $3,449 in cash and two motor vehicles used for the transportation and sale of narcotics were confiscated.
According to police, a search warrant was executed based on drug sales committed in the city.
“[The search warrant and arrests were] the culmination of a six-week investigation in cooperation with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team,” police said in a news release.
The defendants were arraigned in City Court and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.
