Boys Soccer Roundup: Braves blank Bulldogs
COBLESKILL – The Braves got goals from Rob O’Kosky, Ryan Park and Stiven Florez in a 3-0 in over the Bulldogs on Tuesday in a Colonial Council boys soccer contest.
Fonda-Fultonville capitalized on a corner kick by Dan Lewis that was deflected to O’Kosky and buried it into the back of the net for a 1-0 halftime lead.
Florez found Park with a pass that he fired on goal, hitting the crossbar before dropping into the net for a 2-0 edge. Florez closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal.
For the match, Fonda-Fultonville outshot Cobleskill-Richmondville 23-7 and held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Amsterdam 3, Troy 2 OT
TROY – The Rams recovered from a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat Troy in overtime.
Julian Sclemmer and Sean Dory put the Horses up 2-0 before Amsterdam rallied in the second half.
Andrew Druziak converted a penalty kick to trim the lead to 2-1 before Druziak found Ryan Mullarkey with a cross to tie the match with 18 minutes left in regulation.
Troy controlled the play early in overtime, but the Rams countered with Dom Torres carrying the ball down the sideline before hitting Taliq Sims in stride with a cross. Sims poked the ball just inside the post to give Amsterdam the Big 10 victory.
