Herkimer volleyball goes 1-2 in pod play

HERKIMER – The Herkimer County Community College women’s volleyball team went 1-2 in pod play Saturday.

The Lady Generals defeated Finger Lakes Community College 3-2 by scores of 22-25, 17-25, 25-16, 28-26 and 15-7. Herkimer lost to Corning Community College 3-0 by scores of 25-18, 27-25 and 25-18. The Lady Generals also lost to Monroe Community College by scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-19.

Against Finger Lakes, Johnstown graduate Brynn Hlozansky had 21 digs and eight kills for Herkimer, while Dolgeville graduate Ashley Mettler had 10 digs and nine kills. Johnstown graduate Zara Hyde added 26 assists, 12 digs, five kills and five aces.

Against Corning, Hyde had 15 assists, eight digs and seven kills, Hlozansky had 11 digs, and Mettler posted 15 digs and 10 kills.

Against Monroe, Mettler finished with seven digs and five kills, Hlozansky had 15 digs and five kills, and Hyde recorded 13 assists, 11 digs and two kills.
