Tecler School receives grant
AMSTERDAM – Tecler Arts Magnet School has received a $2,500 grant from ING U.S.
The money will help pay for a school-based running program for students, a news release said.
Tecler will receive $1,000 immediately and up to $2,500 based on the participation to support a minimum of an eight-week running program. The effort will conclude with a culminating running event in celebration of the students’ achievements, the news release said.
The program aims to inspire students to be more active and adopt healthy choices.
Physical education teacher Colleen McHeard applied for the grant on behalf of the school.
