Man who reported burglary facing weapon, drug counts
GLOVERSVILLE – A man was arrested Thursday months after he reported a burglary at his residence and police found an illegal firearm and marijuana at the scene, police said.
Ian E. Fitzpatrick, 24, of 25 Fruit St., was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class E felony.
Police said on July 30 officers were called to Fitzpatrick’s residence to investigate the report of a burglary that just occurred, and the items were found.
Capt. of Detectives Anthony Clay said Fitzpatrick had a shotgun with a barrel that was too short and 12.5 ounces of marijuana.
He was arraigned before City Court Judge Traci DiMezza and posted bail in the amount of $2,500 cash.
