Marguerite Millar, 98, (June 3, 1915 to Aug. 31, 2013) passed away peacefully at Orchard Post Acute Care, Vacaville, Calif., following a brief illness. She was a resident of Park Forest, Ill. for 58 years. Marguerite was a devoted member of the Faith United Protestant Church and the Park Forest Nurses Club. She was always willing to donate her time and leadership talents to a variety of charitable causes. In 2008, she moved to Vacaville to live with her daughter and son-in-law; there, she joined Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church in which she took great comfort. Marguerite obtained her RN degree and worked in New York City for several years in the 1930s prior to her marriage. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, Burton and Phoebe (Sprung) Cotton; her husband, Raymond; and infant son, Raymond Jr.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Judy and son-in-law, Ted Neima; sister, Iva Roslyn Brown; and nephew, Kent Burton Brown of Gloversville, N.Y.; grandchildren, Amy Broxham (Tom), Jay Meloan (Bree) and Susanna E. Mogazi (Raddi); great-grandchildren, Austin, Victoria and Willard Boxham, Nicholas Waldroup, Hannah and Nolan Meloan and Jasper and Marguerite “Margo” El Mogazi; great-nieces, Kami Brown Race and Trisha Brown.
A memorial service was held on September 13, at the McCune Garden Chapel, Vacaville. Her ashes are at rest in the Columbarium of the Faith United Protestant Church, Park Forest, Illinois.
