Girls Soccer Roundup: Queensbury blanks Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN – Brittany LaPlant finished with two goals and an assist, powering Queensbury to a 3-0 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council girls soccer contest Tuesday.

Claire Hubbs also scored for the Spartans.

Sara O’Brien made two saves to earn the shutout win in goal for Queensbury (9-0 Foothills).

Ellen Praught made 12 saves for Johnstown (5-4-1 overall, 4-4-1 Foothills).

Scotia-Glenville 5, Glens Falls 0

GLENS FALLS – Abby O’Connor scored three goals, leading Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Glens Falls.

Dominique Puglisi and Kelsey Martin also scored for the Lady Tartans, while Maddy Carroll finished with two assists. Becca Phillips and Gracie Mailey each had an assist for Scotia-Glenville.

Carina Moran made seven saves to earn the shutout win in goal for Scotia-Glenville.

South Glens Falls 11, Hudson Falls 0

HUDSON FALLS – Lauren Vetter netted three goals and had an assist, leading South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls.

Gabrielle Kreppein and Brooke Snyder each had a goal and an assist for South Glens Falls, while Sam Talbot, Megan Wright, Rylee Coon, Shannon Keenan and Vanessa VanGuilder also scored. Shannon Curley finished with two assists for the Bulldogs.

Elyse Green made five saves to post the shutout win in goal for South Glens Falls.

Maddie DeRidder made 16 stops for Hudson Falls.

Colonial Council

Holy Names 2, Fonda-Fultonville 1

ALBANY – Hannah Loder and Nina Panto scored to lead Holy Names to a win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Cassandra Egelston scored the lone goal for FFCS.

Megan Scott made seven saves to earn the win in goal for Holy Names.

Ashley Hulbert and Alexis Halpin combined to make 19 saves for Fonda-Fultonville.

Big 10

Amsterdam 2, Albany 1 (OT)

AMSTERDAM – Monica Rouse scored on a penalty kick in overtime, lifting Amsterdam to a win over Albany at Lynch Literacy Academy.

Rouse also assisted on a goal by Catie Fedullo in the first half for the Lady Rams (7-3 overall, 4-1 Big 10).

Adrianna Guidetti scored the lone goal for Albany.

Center State Conference

Dolgeville 4, West Canada Valley 3 (OT)

NEWPORT – Sarah George netted three goals, leading Dolgeville to an overtime win over West Canada Valley.

Joslin Null also scored for the Blue Devils (4-5-1 overall).

Hannah Bostwick, Alexys Bolton and Joelle Ceneviva scored for West Canada Valley (2-8 overall), while Taylor Zaino recorded two assists.

Katie Millard made 20 saves for Dolgeville, while Olivia Bolton made 14 stops for West Canada Valley.
