Man faces felony weapon charge

GLOVERSVILLE – A city man was arrested Sunday on a felony weapon charge after he was seen exiting a residence where an order of protection was in effect, police said.

CJ Benjamin, 36, of 50 Yale St., was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and second-degree criminal contempt.

Police said they observed him exit a residence where a “stay away” order of protection was in effect, directing him to stay away from a family member.

When officers searched Benjamin, police said, they found a switchblade knife.

He was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail on no bail.
