Girls Soccer Roundup: Canajoharie defeats Mekeel Christian, 5-1

CANAJOHARIE – Jordyn Logan finished with a hat trick to lead Canajoharie to a 5-1 win over Mekeel Christian Academy in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer contest Monday.

Brianna Slater and Hannah Bowerman also scored for the Lady Cougars, while Jenelle Dillenbeck, Dainara Veeder and Morgan Koelbl each had an assist.

Macie Holmes scored the lone goal for Mekeel Christian.

Lauren Balfe finished with two saves to post the win in goal for Canajoharie (8-2 overall, 7-1 WAC).

Rebekkah Dean made 23 stops for Mekeel Christian.

Middleburgh 6, Mayfield 1

MAYFIELD – Amanda Roney scored three goals to lead Middleburgh past Mayfield.

Taylor Cater scored twice for the Knights, while Molly Francis also scored.

Carly Ryan had three assists for Middleburgh, which outshot the Lady Panthers 17-4.

Alyssa Davis scored the lone goal for Mayfield (0-9 overall, 0-7 WAC), while Julie Hampton had an assist.

Kiera Morgan made three saves for Middleburgh.

Maria Messina made three saves in the first half for Mayfield, while Megan Frasier made eight stops in the second half.

Schoharie 8, Galway 2

SCHOHARIE – Seana Cleveland scored three goals to lead Schoharie to a win over Galway.

McKenzie Phelan finished with two goal for the Indians, while Carolyn Krohn had a goal and four assists. Kaitlyn Kendle had a goal and two assists for Schoharie, while Jillian Scofield added a goal and an assist.

Erica Chase had a goal and an assist for Galway, while Felicia Snyder also scored.

Sydney Stanley made five saves for Schoharie, while Lindsey Naughton had 23 saves for Galway.

Duanesburg 6, Sharon Springs 1

DUANESBURG – Megan Wilkes finished with three goals, leading Duanesburg to a win over Sharon Springs.

Maeve McKeeby registered two goals and two assists for the Eagles, while Devon Hennel also scored.

Savannah Olsen scored the lone goal for Sharon Springs on an assist from Mary Fucci.

Nicole Cassale made two saves for Duanesburg, while Kara VanArsdal made five stops for Sharon Springs.


Lake George 2, Northville 1

LAKE GEORGE – Carly Vreugde scored twice to lead Lake George to a non-league win over Northville on Saturday.

Veronica Arceri scored the lone goal for Northville.

Rachel Shambo made 11 saves for Lake George, while Taylor Fancher made seven stops for Northville.
