Family displaced by fire, Red Cross says

CANAJOHARIE -A family of four was displaced by a fire that struck their Flat Creek Road home early Saturday morning.

The Albany-based Northeastern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross issued a news release Saturday indicating it was assisting the family of two adults and two children aged four and nine. The agency said the Red Cross provided lodging, clothing such as shoes and coats, food, and comfort kits to the family.

Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Chief Frank Nestle didn’t return phone calls seeking comment this morning.
