County seeks help with branding work
FONDA – People who live and work in Montgomery?County have another opportunity to help officials determine what brand will work best for the community.
After running an initial “vision survey” earlier this year, North Star Destination Strategies – the company directing the branding project for the county – is now conducting a customized community-wide online survey.
“The questionnaire has been carefully crafted to determine Montgomery County’s strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities,” a news release said.
People who live and work in Montgomery County are invited to participate in the survey. The survey can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/MontgomeryCommunitySurvey.
Surveys can be completed online and submitted electronically. Printed surveys also will be available at the Montgomery County Business Development Center, 9 Park St.
Surveys must be completed and submitted by Monday.
The results of the survey will help the MCBDC and North Star develop a brand strategy that is relevant to the county’s current situation, the release said, but also differentiates the county to consumers.
“The research will not only tell our existing story, it will yield insights that point us in the direction of our desired future story,” Jacki Meola, MCBDC economic development specialist, said in a news release.
“We have partnered with more than 170 communities across North America, and I can’t emphasize enough the importance of insights gleaned from community members,” Don McEachern, CEO of North Star, said in a news release. “To learn what makes a community special, you have to go to the people who spend more than just their money and time there. You have to go to the people who spend their lives there.”
The ultimate goal of the branding project is to attract more residents, businesses and tourists to the county and to improve and maintain quality of life for current residents, the release said.
