Girls Soccer Roundup: Queensbury blanks Gloversville, 6-0
GLOVERSVILLE – Brittany LaPlant scored all six goals, leading Queensbury to a 6-0 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council girls soccer contest Tuesday.
LaPlant scored five times in the first half for the Spartans and once in the second half.
Queensbury outshot Gloversville 15-7.
The Huskies slipped to 2-5 overall and 2-5 in Foothills Council play with the loss.
Johnstown 10, Hudson Falls 1
HUDSON FALLS – Megan Anagnostopulos scored three goals to lead Johnstown to a Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls.
Morganne Dick and Kendra McCoy each scored twice for the Lady Bills.
Diana Horning, Jordyn Hale and Ellen Praught also scored for Johnstown (4-4-1 overall, 3-3-1 Foothills).
Ashley Baird scored the lone goal for Hudson Falls (0-7 Foothills).
South Glens Falls 5, Glens Falls 1
SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Gabrielle Kreppein scored three goals, lifting South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council win over Glens Falls.
Katrina Vandixhorn and Emily Herren also scored for the Bulldogs, while Aly Fish, Lexi Potter and Lauren Vetter each had an assist.
Megan Kanofsky scored the lone goal for Glens Falls on an assist from Olivia Curran.
Elyse Green made six saves for South Glens Falls (3-3-1 Foothills).
Kady Bates made 14 saves for Glens Falls (1-6 Foothills).
Amsterdam 7, Schenectady 0
AMSTERDAM – Diana Constantine finished with two goals to lead Amsterdam to a shutout win over Schenectady at Lynch Literacy Academy.
Monica Rouse had a goal and two assists for the Lady Rams, wile Catie Fedullo recorded a goal and an assist.
Kayleigh Carrero, Kaitlyn Devine and Bridget Fitz-James also scored for Amsterdam (6-2 overall 3-0 Big 10).
Albany Academy 4, Fonda-Fultonville 2
FONDA – Fonda-Fultonville slipped to 1-7 overall and 1-7 in Colonial Council play with a loss to Albany Academy.
Cassandra Egelston and Julianna Taylor scored for FFCS.

Cooperstown 5, Dolgeville 2
COOPERSTOWN – Liz Millea scored three goals, leading Cooperstown past Dolgeville.
Jordan Siver and Bella Anania also scored for Cooperstown (4-1 overall, 3-1 CSC), while Maggie Hall and Sarah Jane Morosko each had an assist.
Sarah George scored both goals for Dolgeville (1-5-1 overall), while Emilie Lewandowski had an assist.
Katie Kleban made six saves for Cooperstown, while Morgan Randall made seven saves for Dolgeville.
Catholic Central 5, Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 0
TROY – Alexis Riffelbach finished with two goals and an assist to lead Catholic Central to a shutout win over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.
Madison Purcell had a goal and three assists for the Crusaders, while Lauren Drake and Kyla Koberger also scored.
Kelly Stanton and Annette Volpe each had three saves for Catholic Central.
Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville slipped to 5-3-1 overall with the loss.
