Girls Soccer Roundup: Canjo edges Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM – Ariannah Logan scored once in each half to lead Canajoharie to a 2-1 win over Amsterdam in a non-league girls soccer contest at Lynch Literacy Academy on Monday.

Logan scored the first goal on an assist from Dainara Veeder with 27:29 left in the first half.

Diana Constantine netted the equalizer for Amsterdam with 17:58 remaining in the second half.

Logan scored the game-winning goal with 4:51 to play on an assist from Hannah Bowerman.

Lauren Balfe made 12 saves for the Lady Cougars (5-2 overall).

Cassandra Robataille made 12 saves for Amsterdam (5-2 overall).


Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 11, Sharon Springs 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Skyler Viveros had two goals and an assist to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a shutout win over Sharon Springs

Jessi Hagadorn, Tabea Salzmann and Hannah Taylor each had two goals for the Lady Wolves (5-2-1 overall, 4-2 WAC), while Abby Mosher and Addie Brundage each had a goal and an assist. Megan Bradt also scored for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Leann Clark made four saves for the Lady Wolves.

Kara VanArsdale made 17 stops for Sharon Springs (1-4 WAC).

Duanesburg 2, Mayfield 0

MAYFIELD – Devon Hennel and Andrea Barton scored to lead Duanesburg to a shutout win over Mayfield.

Maria Messina made eight saves for Mayfield (0-7 overall, 0-6 WAC).

Middleburgh 4, Galway 2

GALWAY – Amanda Roney scored all four goals, leading Middleburgh to a win over Galway.

Erica Chase and Felicia Snyder scored for Galway, while Shelby Suits had an assist.

Kiera Morgan made six saves to earn the win in goal for Middleburgh. Lindsey Naughton made 13 saves for Galway.


West Canada Valley 5, Fort Plain 1

FORT PLAIN – Taylor Zaino scored twice to lead West Canada Valley to a win over Fort Plain.

Tayley Borden, Alexys Bolton and Shania McEvoy also scored for the Indians.

Kaitlin Behan scored the lone goal for Fort Plain (0-7-1 overall).
