H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Smith leads Broadalbin-Perth to win over Amsterdam
BROADALBIN – Gabby Smith finished with 12 service points, 10 assists and five aces to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-0 win over Amsterdam in a non-league volleyball match Monday.
The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-5, 25-12 and 25-10.
Maddie Gurga posted nine kills and three assists for B-P (5-2 overall), while Megan Ryder had 14 service points, five aces and five kills.
Amsterdam slipped to 1-5 overall with the loss. The Lady?Rams are scheduled to host Bishop Maginn today at 5:30 p.m.
Broadalbin-Perth is schedule to travel to Scotia-Glenville on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest.
Canajoharie 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0
CANAJOHARIE – Emma Stortecky finished with 13 assists, 12 service points and two aces to lead Canajoharie to a sweep of Berne-Knox-Westerlo.
The Lady Cougars won by scores of 25-7, 25-21 and 26-24.
Abbey Dearwester recorded 14 assists, nine kills and three aces for Canajoharie (7-1 WAC), while Gracie Adams had 12 service points and six aces. Shyanna Logan posted eight kills and four digs for the Lady Cougars, Shelby Mead had nine kills and two blocks, Frankie Nare registered five kills, and Madison Herrick added three digs.
Shannon Stone led Berne-Knox-Westerlo with 10 digs, six kills, two blocks and two aces, while Kathryn Salo had eight digs, two blocks and two kills.
Michaela Horlacher had 18 assists and two blocks for the Lady Bulldogs (2-5 WAC), Makayla Wright finished with four kills and three blocks, and Sierra Hubbard posted five aces and five digs.
Canajoharie is scheduled to travel to Mekeel?Christian Academy today for a 5:30 p.m. match.
Mayfield 3, Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 0
MAYFIELD – Jordan Marshall was 18-for-18 from the service line, leading Mayfield to a sweep of Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.
Marshall also had 13 service points, four aces and two kills for the Lady Panthers, who won by scores of 25-5, 25-20 and 25-17.
Sabrina Glode registered six points and three kills for Mayfield (6-1 overall, 6-1 WAC), while Miranda Eagan had nine assists, five points and five aces.
Brianna Eagan posted six assists and three kills for the Lady Panthers, and Kaylee Bumpus added seven kills.
Maryssa Dufel had two kills for Mayfield, and Alex Sheldon had three kills.
Brittany Ambrosino finished with five aces and two digs for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (1-6 overall), while Katie Pabis had four digs, two kills and two aces. Shelbey McCumber had three assists and two digs for the Lady Wolves.
Galway 3, Fort Plain 0
FORT PLAIN – Adrianna Watrobski finished with 11 assists, 10 service points, five aces and two kills, leading Galway to a sweep of Fort Plain.
The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-14.
Rachel Jones had nine kills, two points and two blocks for Galway (7-0 WAC), while Emily Zawisa posted six kills, six points and three aces.
Shawna Cotton had eight service points, four assists and four digs for Fort Plain (3-4 overall, 3-4 WAC), while Emily Potter had six points, three digs, two kills and two aces. Anganese Gomez recorded six digs, four points and two aces for the Lady Hilltoppers, and Desiree Suits had five digs.
Fort Plain is scheduled to travel to Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. match.
Schoharie 3, Middleburgh 0
SCHOHARIE – Emily Pieniazek had 17 service points, five kills, four assists and three aces, leading Schoharie to a sweep of Middleburgh.
The Indians won by scores of 25-12, 26-24 and 25-21.
Schoharie improved to 6-2 overall and 6-1 in WAC play with the win.
Deanna Keller had nine assists and six aces for Middleburgh.

DUANESBURG – Duanesburg improved to 2-5 in WAC play with a sweep of Mekeel Christian Academy.
The Eagles won by scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 25-22.
Fonda-Fultonville 3, Albany Academy 0
FONDA – Miranda Nethaway finished with 10 service points, nine kills, five aces and two blocks to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a win over Albany Academy.
The Lady Braves won by scores of 25-21, 25-10 and 25-15.
Gianna Mancini recorded five points, three aces and three kills for FFCS (7-1 overall, 7-1 Colonial).
Lexi Shannon posted six kills for Albany Academy (3-4 Colonial).
