Boys Soccer Roundup: Northville blanks Middleburgh
MIDDLEBURGH – Nick Jonas scored the game’s lone goal on an assist from Dan Reidell in the second half, lifting Northville to a 1-0 win over Middleburgh in a Western Athletic Conference contest.
Tim Monette made five saves for the Falcons (5-0-2 overall, 5-0-2 WAC), who outshot Middleburgh 12-5.
Austin Smith made six saves for Middleburgh (2-3 overall, 2-3 WAC).
Schoharie 3, Mayfield 2 (OT)
MAYFIELD – Richie Martino scored in the second overtime to lead Schoharie to a Western Athletic Conference win over Mayfield.
Will Vedder and Morgan Horry also scored for the Indians, while James Sacket had an assist.
Todd Briggs had a goal and an assist for Mayfield (4-1-1 overall, 4-1-1 WAC), while James Winsman also scored. Riley Yager added an assist for the Panthers.
Justin Montione made four saves for Schoharie, while Lucas VanNostrand made six stops for Mayfield.
Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2, Fort Plain 1 (OT)
FORT PLAIN – Lukus Becker scored 5:37 into the first overtime period to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a win over Fort Plain.
Nick Nagengast scored in regulation for the Bulldogs.
William Logan scored the lone goal for Fort Plain (1-5 overall, 1-5 WAC).
Saratoga Catholic 5, Sharon Springs 3
SHARON SPRINGS – Liam Rice and Nicholas Cavotta each scored twice to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a win over Sharon Springs.
J.R. Hmura also scored for the Saints, while Ryan Czarnecki finished with three assists. Luke Spicer also had an assist for Saratoga Catholic.
Tyler Bianchini had a goal and an assist for Sharon Springs, while Jeff Perrotti and Dustin Tripp also scored.
Queensbury 2, Scotia-Glenville 1
SCOTIA – Cole Crotty and Alliston McFarlane scored to lead Queensbury to a win over Scotia-Glenville.
Chris Goodemote, Jon Meacham and Jimmy Doty each had an assist for the Spartans (7-1 overall, 5-1 Foothills).
Ian Flaherty scored the lone goal for Scotia-Glenville (4-2 Foothills).
