Benefit ride a success

On Sept. 7, horse and rider took to the trails for the 3rd Annual Hooves of Hope Trail Ride. This year’s ride was to benefit cancer patient Denise Jaros of Gloversville.

I would like to thank everyone who came out to help support her. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without each and every one of you. We had a great turnout and everyone had a great time out on the trail. We rode from West Wind through the woods to Devoe Park, which is about 20 miles round-trip.

I would like to thank the following businesses or individuals who donated an item to be auctioned off or a service that was donated: A huge thank you to Ron Nilsen of West Wind Farm for letting us hold the event each year at his facility, Slingshot for playing for us (you guys are awesome), Cosselman Septic, Toby’s Tent Rentals, Final Reward, NAPA Johnstown, J-Fine Jewelry, Hudson River Tractor, Patricia’s, John Krom Woodcrafts, McDonald’s, 2B Xtreme Vinyl Graphics, Flame, Peck’s Lake Resorts, Kevin Stangle, Connie Marcellus, Dunkin’ Donuts in Johnstown, Tina Walden for your hard work in getting more than $800 in sponsors, Bowman Orchard, Tom Maiola, Tiffany Butler, BJ Lazarou, Brenda and Art Mayhew and Adirondack Feed.

Last but not least, a special thank you to my mom, Ruth Violyn, for helping me out that day. Great job and I love you. Check us out on Facebook under Hooves of Hope.
