Bentley’s four-goal effort lifts Lady Bills past Huskies
GLOVERSVILLE – Nicole Bentley finished with four goals, leading Johnstown to a 6-0 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council field hockey game Saturday at Gloversville High School.
Bentley scored twice in each half for the Lady Bills, who improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in Foothills play.
Alexis Livingstone and Hope Cerasuolo each had a goal and an assist for Johnstown, while Kelsi Barnholt had two assists.
Chelsea Rodecker and Christina Bridge each had an assist for the Lady Bills, who scored four of their six goals on penalty corners.
Johnstown finished with a 21-0 edge in corners and a 35-0 advantage in shots on goal.
Kristin Wright didn’t need to make a save to earn the shutout win in goal for Johnstown.
Bailey Pieniazek made 25 saves for Gloversville (0-5 overall, 0-2 Foothills), while Willow Carey made four saves.
“I’m very proud of the way the girls hung in there and played hard the whole way,” Gloversville coach Jacquie Davies said.
The Huskies are scheduled to travel to Hudson Falls on Tuesday, while Johnstown is slated to travel to Glens Falls on Tuesday. Both games are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
South Glens Falls 4, Scotia-Glenville 0
SCOTIA – Emily Sharpe scored twice, leading South Glens Falls to a shutout win over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council contest.
Katie Washburn and Kelsey Baldwin also scored for the Bulldogs, while Lauren Yakush had two assists.
Olivia Higgins and Kyema Richards each registered an assist for South Glens Falls.
Naudia Smith made 12 saves for Scotia-Glenville, which was outshot 15-2.
