Fight in Gloversville leads to charges

GLOVERSVILLE – Three people were charged Monday after a fight on Bloomingdale Avenue in which one of the three brandished a knife, city police said.

Stephan M. Politsch, 20, of 16 Bloomingdale Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment, both violations; Daniel R. Stuart, 30, of 14 Bloomingdale Ave., was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor; and Joshua M. VanHeusen, 34, also of 14 Bloomingdale Ave., was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, police said.

According to the police report, officers responded to Bloomingdale Avenue after receiving a report of three males fighting in the street.

Police said Politsch allegedly caused a disturbance in front of 14 Bloomingdale Ave. and was confronted by Stuart. Politsch hit Stuart, police said, and Stuart chased Politsch back to his residence, where Stuart allegedly destroyed a picture frame in the vestibule of the residence.

VanHeusen allegedly brandished a knife toward Politsch and was found in be in possession of a dagger, police said.

The three were released on appearance tickets.
