Will project pay fair share?

Yippee – another nonprofit, non-taxpaying entity funded from the public coffers may come to Gloversville and buy the Estee Commons property.

We are near our tax max – why is everyone jumping through their rear end? Will this new proposed housing project pay its fair share of taxes, unlike the other new project up on Lee Avenue, or will we have another tail wagging the dog? (Another case of “take this pittance in tax dollars or we pay nothing” because they are nonprofit.)

Between the rent landlords get in Gloversville, along with the taxes, repairs and expenses, most of us can be considered nonprofits as well.
