New Gloversville awaits
We live in a very depressed community evidenced by the blight and unemployment. The answer to this may be turning the many young people I see on our streets into homeowners and taxpayers.
Why don’t we seek out some programs and money that would provide pay and materials for these people to refurbish homes in the city and make them their own, thus adding to our property-tax base?
Those young unemployed people could become an entity that all residents could use for home and property improvements at a lesser charge.
By doing that, we would be providing jobs and the pride that goes with them.
Let’s think out of the box and create the New Gloversville.
