Lawrence Ahrens, age 30 of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville.
He was born on November 26, 1982, and was a 2003 graduate of Johnstown High School.
Mr. Ahrens was employed with Fage until the onset of his illness.
Larry would like you to know that he loved fishing, playing football and softball with his brothers, goofing off with his siblings and being able to help family and friends when needed.
Survivors include: two sons, Lawrence Ahrens Jr. and Gabriel Ahrens and their mother, Cathyann Walbourn all of Johnstown; his parents, George Ahrens and Abbie Razzano Ahrens of Gloversville; two brothers, George (Amanda) Ahrens, Matthew (Chenessa) Ahrens both of Gloversville; one sister, Kimberly (Aaron) Schuh of Gloversville; grandmother Mary Lou Ahrens of Johnstown; two loving nieces and four loving nephews; his very special aunt Pam, uncle Harold (Ruch) Crouse of Johnstown; aunts, uncles and cousins, and his adopted family Dave and Lori Rector and Joe La Nigra.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 North Melcher Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams will officiate.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Ephratah Rural Cemetery.
