Gavin Peck, 56, of Schenectady, New York, passed away, Thursday, August 22, 2013, after a brief illness, with his family and friends at his side.
Gavin was born September 6, 1956 to Richard and Mary Peck in Northville, New York.
Gavin is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lorri; his sons, Stephen and Eric; his mother, Mary; his brothers, Leon, Scott, and Anthony; and nephews, nieces and extended family. Gavin was a loving father, husband and friend.
Most important to Gavin was his faith and family, as evidenced in his charity and kindness to others. He served as a coach, volunteer, and mentor to numerous Schenectady youths over the past 20 years. Gavin was a longtime parishioner at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church and worked at Contec, Inc., in Schenectady for 13 years. He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks. Gavin will be greatly missed by all who knew his warmth and friendship.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, at 11:15 a.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady at noon. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
