OESJ board appoints principal

ST. JOHNSVILLE – The Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Central School Board of Education on Monday appointed Jeanine M. Kawryga of Dolgeville as principal of the O-E Elementary School and OESJ Middle School.

Kawryga was appointed principal of the prekindergarten through 8th-grade Oppenheim campus following the resignation announcement earlier this month of current Principal Brett Barr.

Kawryga comes to OESJ from the Greater Amsterdam School District where she has been the coordinator of grades six through 12 special education since 2009. She also has been a special education administrator in the Troy and Mohawk school districts and taught general and special education for 12 years in the Ilion and Syracuse school districts, a news release said.
