SVAN plans workshops
NORTHVILLE – The Sacandaga Valley Arts Network has scheduled arts workshops for September.
On Sept. 10, 17 and 24, and Oct. 1 and 8, Beginning Handweaving – Part 1 will be offered by Arlene Rambush, fiber artist, at Deerhaven Studio, 130 North Road, Benson.
The five sessions will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.
The entry-level class will cover weaving basics. Students will complete at least two projects using table looms.
The cost is $155 for the general public and $150 for SVAN members. Loom use and supplies are included in the cost.
On Sept. 14 and 21, Introduction to Digital Photography will be offered by Harry Wirtz at SkyHeart Studio, 33 Bleecker St., Gloversville.
The two sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The workshop will teach basic camera controls. The workshop will teach use of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Elements.
People should bring a digital single lens reflex camera and a Mac or Windows laptop if the computer has image-editing software.
The cost is $90 for the general public and $85 for SVAN members.
