FM names board members
JOHNSTOWN – Fulton-Montgomery Community College recently announced the appointments of Board of Trustees members Kenneth Rose and David Strausser.
Rose, who will be serving on the college board from 2013 to 2020, is the Montgomery County Director of Economic Development and the CEO of Montgomery County Industrial Development Agency. He is a member of the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District and president of the Mohawk Valley Rehabilitation Corporation.
Strausser has been appointed as the board’s Student Trustee and will be serving a one-year term. A full-time student, Strausser also is the COO of Loaded eSports LLC. He will graduate with a criminal justice degree this fall and plans to return in the spring to earn a computer science degree.
James Landrio has been appointed as chairman of the board, a news release said. Michael was named vice chairman of the board, and Paula Weaver has been appointed as administrative assistant for the Office of the President and secretary to the board.
Landrio, general manager of the Johnstown Holiday Inn, began his board service in 2001 and will continue to serve until 2017, the release said.
Pepe has been a member of the board since 2008 and will continue to serve until 2015, the release said. He is the senior commercial relationship manager for NBT Bank where he is responsible for managing corporate relationships in Fulton and Montgomery counties. He has been a member of FM’s Foundation Board for six years where he served as chairman.
This summer, Weaver was named administrative assistant for the Office of the President and secretary to the board after the retirement of Diane Palmateer, who served the college for 39 years.
Weaver grew up in Johnstown. She completed the executive secretarial program at Mildred Elley Business School and took several classes at FM before transferring to Schenectady County Community College to earn a paralegal degree.
Prior to coming to FM, the release said, Weaver worked for the Law Office of Vincent E. Vicinanzo and the Mycek Law Firm, both in Amsterdam.
