Walmart sets ribbon cutting

GLOVERSVILLE – Community and business leaders will join Walmart associates for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. Aug. 14.

The public is welcome to attend the grand-opening event, a news release said.

The store will open to the public immediately after the grand-opening ceremony, the news release said.

The new store is located at 329 S. Kingsboro Ave. and is relocating from 233 Fifth Ave. Ext.

It will offer groceries, general merchandise and pharmacy services, the news release said.

The new Walmart will create approximately 85 additional jobs and will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We are so excited to bring this newly relocated store to Gloversville,” store Manager Marvin Massey said in the news release. “We think customers will be pleased with our selection, as well as with the savings we offer on our full line of groceries and merchandise. On grand-opening day, we will be offering product samples and giveaways, and we invite everyone to stop in and see the new store.”
