Minden ditches made flooding worse
I am from the township of Minden. The Highway Department spent one year digging deep ditches along both sides of the roads.
Some roads have no shoulders and are potentially hazardous.
But here is the worst result of this project: The water runs faster and more plentiful down the ditches into streams and into creeks, posing a faster wall of water into flooding stages.
The flooding in Fort Plain was worse than in 2006 because of the new “waterways” they have so brightly engineered.
Our tax dollars on this project have bolstered into disastrous proportions and costing us more.
