Robert F. Cole Sr.

Mr. Robert F. “Bob” Cole Sr., age 60, of Gloversville, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Albany Medical Center.

He was born September 27, 1952, in Gloversville, the son of the late William and Addie VanNostrand Cole. A 1970, graduate of Gloversville High School, he for 40 years was caretaker at John C. Miller’s farm, New Trend Halflingers, until his recent retirement due to illness.

Bob enjoyed life to its fullest. He was a huge fan of the New York Giants Football, New York Yankees Baseball and Syracuse Orange Basketball teams. He enjoyed playing the slots at casinos, fishing, hunting and especially spending time at Camp Never Dry on Hohler Road.

He is survived by: his wife of nearly 40 years, Cynthia L. Hohler Cole, whom he married on October 28, 1973; a son, Robert F. Cole Jr. and his wife, Jeanie of Gloversville; four siblings, Jerry Cole and his wife, Lois of Biloxi, Miss., John Cole of Gloversville, Michele Teale of Barnwell, S.C. and Michael Teale of Gloversville; three grandchildren, Kacie Cole, Spencer VanAlstyne and Jeremy VanAlstyne; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his Willow Street family.

Bob was predeceased by a brother and sister, William Cole and Clara Pike.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating.
