Ann Stewart Boshart
Ann Stewart Boshart, 65, of Fonda, New York, went home to the Lord peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
Ann was born May 29, 1948, in Amsterdam, New York. She graduated from Fonda-Fultonville Central School in 1966 and from Ithaca College in 1970 with a B.S. in Physical Education.
After college, Ann joined the United States Air Force and retired with a medical discharge in 1974 with the rank of Captain. She courageously fought a long, difficult battle with Multiple Sclerosis. If a hero is one who faces adversity, accepts the challenge, leads by example, and positively impacts the lives of others, Ann was the real thing. Ann was the bravest of heroes. Weakened by disease, she towered in strength of goodness and determination.
She was predeceased by her father, John G. Boshart; and her brother, Richard Boshart.
Survivors include her mother, Marjorie Boshart of Fonda; and siblings, Jean (Bob) McGrath of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., John (Lynn) Boshart Jr. of Louisville, Ky., Phil Boshart of Johnstown, N.Y., Peggy (Larry) Peck of Peck’s Lake, N.Y., Sue Boshart of Fonda, N.Y., Jim Boshart of Fonda, N.Y., Bill Boshart of Johnstown, N.Y., Henry Boshart of Fonda, N.Y., Bob Boshart of Fonda, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and a grandnephew.
The family would like to thank the Community Hospice of Amsterdam for their care and support during a difficult time.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Fonda Reformed Church, 19-21 Broadway, Fonda, NY 12068. A calling hour will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sandflats, Fonda, N.Y. with full military honors.
